Wave Wearable strives to be an aid to the millions suffering from debilitating pain caused by Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). Every day millions cannot perform their daily functions efficiently because of the pain caused by this condition. Our mission is to provide unwavering treatment to promote unwavering lifestyles. We will do this with our wearable medical device, Wave CTS.
Why We Do It.
CTS is caused by inflammation of the wrist due to repetitive motion. When the tissue in the wrist becomes inflamed: it swells, placing pressure on the flexor tendons and the median nerve. CTS causes symptoms such as pain, numbness, and uncontrollable stiffness. For most sufferers, CTS never goes away completely. 3% of the adult population in the US is suffering from CTS at any given time. Carpal Tunnel Release surgery is the recommended treatment for severe cases.
What We Do.
Our high-tech wrist brace and mobile app empowers users to take control over their pain. With integrated sensors in the wrist brace’s fabric, the brace provides red light therapy and electric stimulation to manage the pain. All of these outputs are controlled by a smartphone app. The smartphone app also allows users to log their symptoms and share user data with physicians, and provide recommendations to more effectively manage your pain.
